Lucas Jumalon Leads Final Seven In 2026 WSOP Main Event Poker News

About World Series of PokerThe World Series of Poker® is the largest, richest and most prestigious gaming event and poker brand in the world, having awarded more than $4 billion in prize money over the past six decades. To qualify online for WSOP 2026, please visit GGPoker.com to find out more about WSOP Express, or wsoponline.com if located in the United States. New for 2026, WSOP will award $1M in total to POY competitors, with the player who finishes first receiving a $100,000 WSOP Paradise 2026 package. As always, the centerpiece of the summer is the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em World Championship, better known as the ‘Main Event’, which begins on Thursday, July 2. Returning to the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas on the iconic Las Vegas Strip, the 2026 WSOP promises a summer of unparalleled action, where new legends will be made and 100 gold bracelets will be awarded. “Mizrachi has completed what might be the most impressive feat in poker history by winning the two most difficult tournaments to win in the same year,” said WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart.

The meat of my career was live updates, so I hold a soft spot for those because that remains the best way to really embrace the game itself and break down a hand. Even after being on camera in various capacities for years, when I worked as the WPT Live Update Hostess in Season X, the larger poker community still pushed back. Thankfully, Wicked Chops Poker created this position for me on their weekly poker show where I popped in and gave them the major headlines from the industry for five minutes. As a tournament reporter, I was so behind the scenes and so low on the ladder that I did not feel that pressure. A lot of people would say poker was pretty nasty with misogyny during that period.

A dedicated mixed game player, Canada’s Patrick Stacey wins his first WSOP bracelet after defeating high-stakes professional poker player Danny Tang heads-up. Professional poker player Caitlin Comeskey continued her successful summer at the World Series of Poker by making Day 5 of the Main Event. Las Vegas resident Ralph Perry held the unofficial chip lead in the World Series of Poker Main Event on Day 6 Saturday with 90 players still standing. When Day 7 of the WSOP Main Event started Sunday, all the remaining players were notified a “shot clock” would be implemented in an effort to speed up play. Malcolm Trayner of Australia had the chip lead in the World Series of Poker Main Event when action was paused on Day 7 late Sunday with 21 players left.

As the official live reporting partner, we go all-in on coverage of poker’s most famous tournament, from Day 1 flights to the final river card of the heads-up duel. And this year, with a bit of help from the new WSOP+ app, fans can expect fewer mystery players, fewer misspellings, and (finally!) an end to the reign of “Opponent” in hand histories. This will be the eighth time that a WSOP main event champion has earned an eight-figure payday after coming away with the hardware. The past four main events have set a new standard for the tournament, with the 2023 version breaking a 17-year streak for the 2006 main event (8,773 entries) atop the event’s field-size rankings. Winning the historic 2023 WSOP Main Event, American professional poker player Daniel Weinman took home the record-breaking $12,100,000 top prize and his second career WSOP bracelet. • It’s a new development for poker players to deal with this.

Registration for all summer events will open soon, streamlining the path to the podium. Elsewhere at the SHRPO series, statistical anomalies were on tap as three different players won four events in the series. Las Vegas, Nevada (February 16, 2026) – The World Series of Poker (WSOP®) today announced the daily event schedule for the 2026 World Series of Poker, the 57th edition of the world’s richest and most prestigious poker series. The WSOP welcomes poker players from around the globe. Designed to streamline your entire WSOP experience, the free app lets you pre-register for bracelet events and skip cage lines and receive real-time seat alerts. Together, these two venues will provide a world-class stage for the world’s best poker players.

With only a handful of exceptions, I don’t think any player really struck me as wildly different from how they were on television. Everyone on the team at that time really was committed to putting on the best event they could and doing so in a way that revered the brand. Nothing compared to that format of podcast where you heard the news of what was going on in the tournament, what the gossip was, where people ended up after play ended, and, my personal favorite, the table talk. I would listen to Gavin Smith, Joe Sebok, and what started as Scott Huff on the CardPlayer podcast and then Joe Stapleton on PokerWire radio every day during the summer and when they were on the road with the WPT. Honestly, if Chops hadn’t outlined the vision for others, I don’t think I would have ended up doing as much multimedia as I did because the industry was so stuck in the paradigm of girl in poker video equals ‘hot girl.’

When we got down to heads-up, he had become handcuffed and in really bad shape because he had completely run out of time banks. Sure, there are times when you get coolered, and you’ve got to put it in. I never really worked on preflop in no-limit hold’em. I’ve always felt that in no-limit hold’em post-flop, my hand reading skills are much better than preflop. My types of mistakes in PLO are not reraising, four-betting, and all that stuff – it’s just playing too many hands, which is fine.
